You can see the castle from behind (entrance side), but it is not accessible as it is private.

Landmark of the town. Striking castle complex, characterized by the keep from the 12th century, located on a rocky outcrop above the village. Undeveloped surroundings. Once the seat of important families. The castle building was demolished around 1850, carelessly rebuilt in a historicist style from 1860. Demolition again from 1972 and subsequent historically accurate reconstruction until 1974.

      Weinfelden Castle

In 1180 the Counts of Kyburg owned the "Castrum Winveldem". It later belonged to the dukes of Austria and the lords of Bussnang. They probably built today's castle at the beginning of the 15th century. Apparently she had ruined this building, so that in 1431 half of the property was sold to the city of Konstanz, the other half to Bertold Vogt from Constance. In the Plappart War he paid the guilders 2,000 guilders to keep his share of the castle, after which the castle changed hands more often.
