Next to the Hurtig rock is the Hurtig fountain. A small fountain bubbles from the upper granite block, the water falls down over the cascade-like rock group.

The Hurtig rock with a nice rest area is right below the calvary and the Hurtig fountain is right next to it.
The facility is intended to commemorate the senior teacher Franz Hurtig from Leipzig, who is considered to be the founder of the summer resort Fichtelberg and who took care of the construction of hiking trails and viewpoints. In this way, he helped Fichtelberg to a positive development in tourism, for which he was granted honorary citizenship in 1936.
