The Hotel, located opposite the Mastbos, has existed since 1897. At the time, Captain de Groot and some of his friends were talking in the Ginneken about the lack of good accommodation options around the beautiful Mastbos. Somewhat under the influence, the Captain spoke the legendary words; "I'll show you how to do it!" The next day he kept his word and bought a piece of land at the edge of the forest. In 1897 the Mastbosch Hotel was a fact and the first guests were welcomed.
