Pretty soon when you walk into the Mastbos you will come across the Turfven. A nice quiet spot.

The Mastbos is one of the oldest planted forests in the Netherlands. At the beginning of the 16th century, Count Henry III of Nassau had a forest planted here with pine seed from Germany. As the name suggests, the forest provided the masts for the VOC fleet. In addition, the Nassaus used the Mastbos as a hunting ground. They did this from the stately Castle Bouvigne, which they had bought especially for this purpose. Behind the castle, the Mark stream flows through a beautiful wide valley.

And here at Turfven, you can enjoy the wonderful nature with a break and the backpack food tastes even better.
