The Sand Motor, also known as DeltaDuin, is located off the coast of Ter Heijde. This is an artificial peninsula or sandbank. The 21.5 million cubic meters of sand used for this purpose were absorbed by ships 10 km off the coast from the seabed and pumped to the shore.
