Historic Darmstadt City Wall

Now it has been handed over to the city and its citizens as a "symbolic gift for World Heritage", as the TU announced.With the refurbishment, this historic part of the former fortifications around the old suburb should be made accessible to the general public again. Strictly speaking, these are two parallel walls. Together they form a corridor that is 57 meters long and 2.50 meters wide. According to TU, it led to a women's prison built in 1897, which served as an addition to the men's prison that had already been opened in 1834.
