The Schusterstein Tunnel was built between 1900 and 1902 as part of the construction of the Chemnitz Küchwald - Wechselburg railway line. It passes under a part of the Schusterstein massif, which is responsible for the beautiful meander (loop) of the Chemnitz.
Today it is one of the most beautiful parts of the Chemnitztalradweg with its bridge - tunnel - bridge combination after the renovation from 2015 to 2016.

Switch off GPS when hiking through, otherwise your cell phone will go crazy. This combination of bridges and tunnels is really fun.
