11/14/2019 - The name of this passage cave is derived from an eerie event that is said to have taken place at the time of the Turkish siege in 1683. Supposedly, residents hid in the cave from the Turks. However, the rising smoke from cooking fires is said to have betrayed her. The Turks discovered, kidnapped or killed them. Archaeological excavations in 1981 contained coins, potsherds and bones and are supposed to confirm this historical tradition.
