The village church Straupitz is a Protestant church in the village Straupitz on the northern edge of the Spreewald. It was built according to the plans of the Prussian architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel. Therefore, it is also called "Schinkel Church". With its unusual size, its far-sighted double-tower façade and its fully preserved original features, it represents a high-ranking architectural monument of supraregional importance.

The village church Straupitz, which is also called 'Schinkelkirche', can be seen from afar and is an impressive building. Inside, however, it is simply equipped. Unfortunately, you could only take pictures through the door, an entrance was not possible during my visit in April 2019.

A magnificent church with two huge towers, very impressive! Has been built according to plans by Schinkel. Unfortunately, we could not look at the inside only through the inner lattice door to gain a few impressions, before after opening hours at the tourist office in Straupitz inquire!
