The almost 800-year-old city wall testifies that Gangelt was an important place in the Middle Ages, which had to be protected by a fortification. On a tour you can still see the remains of walls, gates, alleys and towers impressively. Access to the city was through 4 tower gates. Heinsberger Tor and Bruchtor have survived to this day.
