The dam at Lohmühle - a so-called heavyweight wall - dams the Our over a length of 8 km and an area of approx. 100 ha. The wall is 30 meters high, 130 meters long, 3.80 meters at the top of the dam and 28 at the foot Meters wide. 2 Kaplan turbines with an output of 900 kW or 3,100 kW generate electricity for the power plant's own use.
The water level of the lower reservoir fluctuates by 8.5 meters. Early in the morning, after several hours of pumping, its water level is usually the lowest. In the evening, however, the water is high on the dam.
