The parish church of St. Peter and Paul was consecrated in 968 and is the mother church of Rothenburg. Here, too, Tilman Riemenschneider immortalized himself with a work of art made of wood (1508). Originally created for the Michaelskapelle in Rothenburg, it was transferred to Detwang in 1653 and had to be reduced in size because it was too wide for the choir.
