From 1841 to 1890 the Thuringian passenger station was in operation, the predecessor station of the main station.
The freight yard in the southern part was expanded in 1871 to become the Thuringian freight yard.
With the construction of the port railway in 1895 from Sophienhafen and the Halle Klaustor - Hettstedt railway line, the Thuringian railway station developed into a large freight yard.
In 1991 the operation of the station and the port railway was discontinued.

A visit to the sculpture garden is definitely worthwhile, as there are many things to do on the entire site.
But one thing is missing somehow. A diner or something like a coffee shop. Because there are always quite a few people out there.
