De Schorre is a provincial recreation area run by the province of Antwerp located in Boom. The 75 ha domain is available for recreation, sports and events. The recreation area was built around a number of old clay pits that had been disused.

The domain has a brasserie, an indoor and outdoor playground, a recreational pond with pedal boats and a few depots for mobile homes. The sports infrastructure includes a football field, hockey field, omnisport field, recreational pond for kayak polo, delta ramp and judo hall. The congress center De Pitte offers meeting and event accommodation for smaller groups.

Long ago, when the brick-baking industry took over the area along the Rupel for the manufacture of roof tiles and bricks, there was a deep clay pit on this spot. Clay was extracted from this, which was transformed in the workshops along the river into stone products that were in demand worldwide. The brickyards have disappeared, the clay pits no longer functioned.

The established domain became known through the organization in the field of festivals such as the Children's Rights Festival, Schorremorrie and Mano Mundo and became world famous because of the organization of Tomorrowland in the park since 2005. The domain is also the stadium of the field hockey club Braxgata, where the European hockey championships for men and women were organized in August 2013.

Old clay pits have been given a new purpose. A total experience all year round. Check the website.
