The Capuchin convent Wonnenstein was created at the end of the 14th century from a conventual beguinage who lived according to the rule of St. Francis of Assisi. Seven sisters live here who not only practice organic farming, but also produce legally recognized medication, such as wound and burn ointment or syrup against rashes, which you can buy.

The Wonnenstein Monastery, also called Mariä Rosengarten Monastery, is a Capuchin monastery that is an inner Rhodian enclave in the area of the municipality of Teufen.
It was founded as a Beguine monastery in 1379 and adopted the Capuchin reform around 1590. After the Appenzell land division in 1597, the territorial affiliation of Wonnenstein was controversial until a federal decree in 1870 stipulated that all areas within the monastery walls belong to Appenzell Innerrhoden. There it is assigned to the municipality of Schlatt-Haslen. The monastery and church were rebuilt in 1687.
