The strikingly different-looking mountain church Schenkenhan/Kořenov (Wurzelsdorf) was built in 1909 (in just four months) to bring Protestant churches to Catholic areas. With the church, also known as the "Carpenter's Chapel", Otto Bartning created an octagonal central building with a surrounding gallery and pulpit altar and later repeated this building type several times.
(There is also a striking similarity to the Seiffener Bergkirche [1779], as well as to the Bähr Trinity Church in Schmiedeberg [1716], both in the Erzgebirge.)
