These two stones lie just outside Avebury and are called the Longstones although often referred to as Adam and Eve. Possibly the end of an ancient avenue, Adam — the larger of the two— was once flanked by three other stones, long destroyed. There's something quite atmospheric about their lonely positioning and they're well worth going to see.
