The Elstermühle Plessa is a technical monument on the Black Elster in Plessa.
It was mentioned in 1420 and originally had a cutting and a flour mill.
After 1991, it was comprehensively renovated by the Förderverein Naturpark Niederlausitzer Heidelandschaft and accommodates not only offices but also seminar rooms and a biological ward.

After a period of inactivity, the mill was brought back into shape by a couple of artists. In addition to accommodation for writers and those seeking peace and quiet, the mill offers hot tea by the fireplace (optionally with cake) for frozen hikers and a cold beer for thirsty cyclists. A stop here is worthwhile, because numerous photographs on the walls tell the life stories of generations who have earned their "daily bread" here.
