The history of Donauwörth took a remarkable course at the latest with the construction of a castle on the Mangoldfelsen/Mangoldstein around the year 900. A well-known place of pilgrimage (Holy Spirit Church and Monastery) and one of the bases of the Fuggers, who were incredibly wealthy at the time. There is also an old railway line and an old port on the Danube to discover here. Many historic buildings have been lovingly restored. Donauwörth is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Here you can perfectly combine culture and nature.
