Tips
Sunrise at Batur is nice, as it is on every mountain. Maybe a bit overrated as it's often cloudy in the morning and very busy; the view is also very enjoyable the rest of the day. But the hike isn't too long and easily feasible in the dark.

The climb is sometimes exhausting and should not be underestimated. It is advisable to have a jacket with you. It is very cool on the mountain. The sunrise is just beautiful.

The climb was possible in sneakers, even when it was raining. Do not forget rain jacket!
