The ascent to the Ellmaustein leads through a beautiful mixed forest. From the summit cross there is a wonderful view of Fuschl and the Fuschlsee. Fuschl Castle can be seen at the end of the lake. The summit cross is not on the summit itself, but a few meters further at the point with the most beautiful view.

It's worth hiking up here and enjoying the landscape from the bench at the summit cross. The hike is signposted with 1 hour. This can be done at a leisurely pace.

Hiking

A few minutes before the actual summit (cross) where many hikers simply run past with the cross in front of their eyes - that's why it is a wonderful place (even if there is no view of the Fuschlsee - but when the summit is "free" you can still go up there ) - I like the Platzerl
