The parish church of the Assumption in Schnaitsee is worth seeing: the 64 m high tower has an interesting double onion, which suggests financially strong financiers. This church was the first in the Traunstein district to be baroque. The location of this kiche on the 607m high ridge is also ideal. You can see the church from a distance and vice versa you have a good view of the Alps.
Schnaitsee has two beautiful inns in the immediate vicinity of the church. Seems to be a popular meeting place for bikers.

The patronage "Maria (or Assumption)" of this church refers to one of the many commemorative days or feast days in honor of Mary, the Mother of God. It goes back to the feast of their physical acceptance into heaven, which the Church celebrates annually on August 15th.
In many rural areas it is common for the people to collect herbal bundles (called "Kruggweusch" in the Rhenish dialect) on this day and bless them in the festival service.
