Oberried is at the entrance to the Zastler and Brugga valleys. The latter leads up to the Schauinsland or Notschrei, the former offers a premium climb at its best to the Feldberg-Nordhang and up to the Rinken, which offers almost alpine flair, including a roughly one-kilometer-long gravel road section, which is generally suitable for racing bikes. In Oberried itself there are places to stop for refreshments, but no shops or petrol stations.
