The impressive palace complex is located on the local road leading out of Ebern in the village of Eyrichshof at the junction to the Rotenhan ruins.Since the Rotenhan were not allowed to rebuild their destroyed castle, they built a new residence in the valley, which was destroyed in the Peasants' War in 1525. The reconstruction dragged on until the end of the 16th century. At that time, the new castle was a building flanked by four corner towers, which was surrounded by a wide moat over which a drawbridge led. This moated castle was also surrounded by a curtain wall as additional protection.Through various renovations, the castle turned into an exemplary Renaissance building; a harmonious combination of stepped gables, round towers, bay windows and various roofs. In the gable window of the stair tower facing the courtyard stands the wooden bust of a bearded man whom the people jokingly and affectionately call "Bartele von Eyrichshof". It is said that a former lord of the castle posted this figure as a warning image to supervise the servants. The moat was leveled in 1730 and 1760 respectively. There is a spacious park in front of the castle. The castle church has a beautiful baroque portal. There is also a charming orangery. In 1735 the entire complex of the castle, as it appears today, is completed with the construction of the north wing (built from 1735 to 1737 by Zocha), a rococo-style guest building. The successful union of the architectural styles has made Eyrichshof one of the most beautiful mansions in the wide area.At the time, the new castle was built where the farmyard of the Rotenhan family castle was once located, and hence its name: Iringshof = EyrichshofEyrichshof Castle (Ebern, Haßberge)
