So the bike tours through the Bienwald are controversial among cyclists:Some say:"The paths are like on a chess board, cross-shaped and almost always straight.""A very small proportion of the paths are paved. There are too many gravel roads and paths that are knee-high overgrown.""Unreasonable in summer because of the Schnake".Others say:"Wonderful rest!""You can see one or the other old bunker from WWII.""Clear paths without a lot of curves.""As long as you keep moving, the gnats stay away."I drive regularly through the bee forest, but mostly use paved or gravel paths and avoid the gravel roads. In summer the trip is a good change and offers the typical forest coolness.

The Bienwald is an approximately 120 km² wooded conservation area and is very popular with hikers and cyclists as a local recreation area.
