Today one larger and several smaller hills can be seen in a charming moorland landscape. Mansingen Castle has the character of a motte, with the main and outer baileys each located on a hill and separated from each other by a moat. The complex is surrounded by a common ditch with a rampart, although a second surrounding ditch can be seen in the northwest. The 1.5 m high outer bailey hill has been divided by a ditch, giving the impression of a three-mound mound similar to the nearby Elmendorf Castle. The 2 m high main castle hill has a plateau measuring 19 × 23 m, the outer bailey formed an irregular trapezoid measuring approx. 37 × 54 m.The excavation carried out in 1969 revealed ceramics from the 12th to 14th/15th centuries. Century, which is very compatible with the historical data of the Lords of Mansingen, which is documented between 1226 and 1385.
