The Strada del Ponale connects Riva del Garda with the Ledro Valley. The path was blasted into the rock in the second half of the 19th century and was only replaced by a modern tunnel 20 years ago. It has been a cycling and hiking trail since 2004. Due to its location and construction, Ponalestraße is one of the most beautiful historical panorama trails in Europe. During the holidays and at the weekends, however, quite crowded by cyclists and hikers.

Some say that Ponalestraße is the most beautiful bike path in the world and that is not entirely unfair. Below gravel top asphalt she was hit in the rock and offers a magnificent panorama. Here only mountain bikers and hikers, no cars, which really makes mood. The route is also feasible for average cyclists, so you do not have to be a well-trained professional.

On the way to the Lago di Ledro I drove along here. A really nice route. From Riva one drives a time directly along the lake.

Probably the most famous mountain bike and hiking route on Lake Garda. Unfortunately, overcrowded in recent years, also because the track has been repaired and improved in recent years. E.g. the separation of Mtb and hiking trails. Still a must for everyone.

Once you've made one of the first hurdles on the way to Lake Tenno, you'll have a wonderful view of the route and the view of Lake Garda through the Ponale Valley

Impressive old pass road, now only to be done by bike or on foot.

Wonderful ascent and wonderful descent from and to Riva del Garda. A short detour to the old war positions offers even more impressive outlooks and depths!

Very nice bike trail, if not one of the nicest in the area.

Ponale is simply a MUST for MTB, graveler or hiker.
