Please check local regulations for: Jostedalsbreen nasjonalpark
The Austerdalsbreen is a glacier branch of the Jostedalsbreen - the largest glacier in mainland Europe. Three glaciers named after Nordic deities plunge down into the valley like waterfalls: Odinsbreen, Torsbreen and Lokebreen. Here you can get up close to the glacier. But since large pieces keep breaking off when the glacier "calves", it's better to look at this ice spectacle from a little distance and enjoy the view while taking a break on one of the large boulders at the foot of the glacier.

Very beautiful glacier, which can be reached after a somewhat arduous tour (after rain). Here you can also go down to the glacial lake.

One more thing: Tolls are NOK 70 for cars and NOK 140 for RVs.
At the parking lot below, there are some gravel areas suitable for overnight stays. Next to them is an outhouse.
Above the parking lot is a DNT hut with toilets, showers, and water.
After a hike to the glacier, an overnight stay with a view of the glacier is highly recommended!
