The Fortress of Monte Ercole, also called "Forte di Ospedaletto" after the name of the nearby village in the municipality of Gemona del Friuli, is part of the defense system of the Upper Tagliamento, along with the nearby fortresses of Osoppo and Monte Festa.It is easily accessible by bike from Ospedaletto. Initially, it follows a forest path, then a former military road. Admission and tours are free.
