Just a nice place with a small lock, an old barge and a houseboat.

Unfortunately, the lock at Bardowick is in poor condition and was closed in 2012. When or if the lock is repaired, is still in the stars. It is, as always, also a matter of money. Since today the vegetables are transported by trucks, Ilmenau no longer has any significance as a transport route. The lock has fallen into a deep sleep and is waiting for a prince who kisses her awake. This is how the museum ship, with which the vegetables were once transported to Hamburg, is caught there.

But somehow it has remained a magical place.
