The old lime works in the middle of the forest is definitely worth a trip. Those who dare to go into the basement will see old funnels from which stalactites and stalagmites grow.

Barely a fifteen-minute walk from Hergenrath station, you come across this abandoned lime kiln in a forest. As high as a four-storey house, it resembles a (derelict) castle. Strange to enter here around 8am. How a dilapidated, dirty and abandoned factory building still has an appeal.
