The Jewish district cemetery was created in the early 18th century and is the oldest cemetery in the central Selztal. The Jewish citizens from the village and the neighboring parishes of Partenheim, Essenheim, Vendersheim, Stadecken and Saulheim buried their dead on an area of 32 ares until 1938. The grave sites that are still visible today are surrounded by a varied flora with some very rare specimens, the care and maintenance of which was taken over by NABU.
