We were on the Rhine cycle path from Andermatt to Karlsruhe. This of course also includes the hike to the official source of the Rhine, the Lai Da Tuma. It is a small high mountain lake that collects the water from many springs. From the lake onwards, the mountain stream is called the Vorderrhein. At Reichenau in Switzerland, the Vorderrhein and Hinterrhein finally flow together and from here on it is called the Rhine. It was very nice to have stood at the source of this great river.

From here, along the stream, you can also return to the OberalpPass. The path is a little longer, but not that steep. You can also see the high moor area with streams and meadows, and the Plidutscha plateau with maga views .....
