The Hexenturm is a lookout tower northwest of the cemetery and the parish church of St. Walburga, which is the last remaining part of a medieval castle. Since the 19th century it has been called the witch's tower for reasons that are not clear, but originally served as a keep and residential tower. It was built in the 12th century, and especially inside you can see that it was built for the most part from demolition material from the Roman Eifel aqueduct.

The court linden is a winter linden (Tilia Parvifolia). Their age is estimated to be 200 years. A linden tree was first mentioned here in 1478. Judgment was held near the linden tree until modern times. The stake and drill house stood by the churchyard wall. The gallows was on the northeast border of Walberberg. kuladig.de/Objektansicht/O-70418-20130729-4

The witch's tower in Walberberg in the northernmost part of Bornheim was first mentioned as such in 1817, but the name has no connection with traditional witch hunts from the Middle Ages or the early modern period. The name, which was later established in parlance, is said to be based on the origin of romantic sagas in the 19th century. The tower is to be built in the 12th / 13th Century as the keep of a castle that was abandoned at an unknown time, possibly during the Truchsessian War.
