Helmbund was the predecessor town of Neuenstadt am Kocher. The evacuated city existed until about the middle of the 14th century and was given up in favor of Neuenstadt.
The remainder of the church tower and choir was destroyed in the Thirty Years War and originally built under Konrad von Weinsberg and Rüdiger von Weiler in the 12th century. Until 1636 the churchyard surrounding the ruins was the burial place for Neuenstadt and Cleversulzbach. Remembrance services were also held in the church until 1790. Nobles from the region were buried in the crypt until the 18th century.

The ruin is a gem from the year 797. Remains of the abandoned settlement near Neuenstadt. It is located very close to the TSV sports center.
It invites you to take a leisurely break in the green.
In the sports center with the pizzeria you will be rewarded for your activities with delicious pizzas or a small selection of ice cream.
In the nearby center of the city there are cafes and especially the Eiscafé Italia, which is highly recommended.
