Upleward is one of the 18 Warfendörfer, which together with the fishing village of Greetsiel form the quaint and beautiful Krummhörn. An extraordinary highlight are the blacksmith's fences, which seem to grow out of the earth like enchanted tendrils. The famous mud sled race also takes place in Uplewarder Watt.
