“On the Knock” – as it is said above – there is a sluice with a modern pumping station on the large Mahlbusen and a modern radar tower, as well as a campsite and the Mahlbusen of the Knockster Tief, which is used as a water sports area. The sluice and pumping station are operated by the 1st Emden Drainage Association based in Pewsum and are responsible for the drainage of large parts of Emden and the areas north of Emden. The association is responsible for around 49,000 hectares of land, of which between 10,000 and 12,000 hectares are below sea level and therefore have to be constantly drained.

The bike path here to Knock is a bit difficult against wind, but from here you have a nice
View over to Holland.
From here ships also travel to Delfzijl and Eemshaven in the Netherlands, as well as to the island of Borkum.
