From here you have a great view of the freshwater mud flats on the other side of the Elbe. Furthermore, walking through loneliness is a real experience. Before heading to the top, however, you should watch closely whether the herd of cattle is there, otherwise it can quickly lead to the return path becoming an adventure. There are no prohibition signs, but there is a warning about the bulls and cows with calves that may feel threatened.

Here at the extreme western tip (Schwinder Haken) of the Schleuseninsel / Elbinsel near Geeshacht is the triangle of three countries. The three federal states of Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg & Lower Saxony border each other at this exposed location with great views of the Elbe and the surrounding country.
