The Carolin Tower is a 26 m high observation tower, which was built in 1909 in honor of the Grand Duchess Caroline of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach, who died of sand-lime brick. When you have climbed the 106 steps to the viewing platform, you have a good view of Weimar, Kiliansroda, Mechelroda, Mellingen, the Thuringian Basin, and with good visibility to the Kyffhäuser and Harz. The chain of the Thuringian Forest can be seen in the south.

One of the most beautiful points along the Drei-Türme-Weg. A wonderful tower, a great view over the country (you don't actually have to climb the tum) and many picnic benches. Here you can really stand it :-)
And if you don't have anything to eat with you, you can get a delicious lunch at the nearby inn.
For me, an absolute highlight on the circuit and definitely worthwhile as an excursion destination!

The Carolinenturm, one of the most popular excursion destinations in the Weimarer Land, stands on the Kötschberg (497m above sea level) about 4 km north of the city of Blankenhain, the highest elevation in the district. The Landgasthof Müllershausen is in the immediate vicinity. The Carolinenturm is located on the "3 Türmeweg". Here you can continue to hike to the Paulinenturm and Hainturm.
