Magnificent panorama presented from the top of the Gridone. As early as the 1960s, some enthusiastic Brissaghesi had the idea of building a mountain hut as a place to stop and rest for the numerous mountain hikers in this area, especially on the way to the summit of Gridone.
So it happened that in 1992 the association Amici della Montagna di Brissago (AMB) was founded with the purpose of building a refuge for a simple rest or short stays (overnight stay). It was not easy to raise the necessary capital. But, as we know, the difficulties strengthen the cohesion and increase the effort. Thanks to the courtesy of the canton with the Sport-Toto, thanks to the clubs and local companies and not least the municipality of Brissago and the local patriciate, but especially thanks to the generosity of many private citizens, the modern and elegant building was achieved in less than 3 years Completed on schedule.
