    Hiking

The Orrido di Sant'Anna is a deep gorge carved out by the Cannobino torrent, not far from Cannobio. With its sheer rock walls and crystal-clear waters, it is an ideal destination on hot summer days, when many visitors stop to swim or explore the scenic paths that run alongside it. Nearby is a small church dedicated to Sant'Anna, dating back to the 17th century.

    Hiking

A well-known and interesting excursion destination near Cannobio is the Orrido di Sant'Anna. This unique gorge is a true natural spectacle. Countless divers flock to admire its beauty in the cold mountain waters. Smooth, steep rock faces with deep, clear, ice-cold water, at dizzying heights above the waterfalls that silently flow through the gorge. The river has carved a deep trench over thousands of years. Not far away, high above the Cannobino Gorge, is the Church of Sant'Anna with its paintings depicting the life story of Saint Anne, as well as the small chapel with its beautiful frescoes.

Not far from the Orrido, in 1683, a small church dedicated to Saint Anne was built, probably to a design by G.A. Crivelli. Inside, it houses an ancient shrine with frescoes dedicated to the Madonna di Loreto, depicting the apse of the current structure. Inside, the mighty main altar, adorned with winding columns of black marble and elegant friezes, attracts attention.
