Not far from the Orrido, in 1683, a small church dedicated to Saint Anne was built, probably to a design by G.A. Crivelli. Inside, it houses an ancient shrine with frescoes dedicated to the Madonna di Loreto, depicting the apse of the current structure. Inside, the mighty main altar, adorned with winding columns of black marble and elegant friezes, attracts attention.

A well-known and interesting excursion destination near Cannobio is the Orrido di Sant‘Anna.
This unique gorge is a real natural spectacle. Countless divers meet in the cold mountain water to admire this beauty. Smooth, steeply sloping rock walls with deep, clear, ice-cold water, at a dizzying height above the waterfalls that quietly run through the gorge. In thousands of years of work, the river dug a deep ditch. Not far from there, high above the Cannobino gorge, there is also the church of Sant‘Anna with its paintings and the life story of Saint Anne, as well as the small chapel with its beautiful frescoes.
