On its west side, the Sustenpass certainly ranks among the top league of the most spectacular Alpine passes. The deep views to the Steingletscher and the surrounding mountain world are fantastic.

On the full 27 km, this ascent is one of the most scenic in the Alps and is very pleasant to drive. Only shortly before the top of the pass does the gradient reach 10% for a short time, on the majority of the remaining ascent the gradient is significantly lower.
