Leube House (Kron Pharmacy and First Cement Factory), Ulm

From 1600 a pharmacy. The cement was not developed here. The Romans already knew cement. But rediscovered and perhaps marketed with Swabian care and thoroughness.

Gustav Ernst Leube (born May 23, 1808 in Ulm; † November 15, 1881 in Ulm) was a pharmacist at the Kronenapotheke in Ulm, who also worked in experimental chemistry and mineralogy. From 1835 he rediscovered the art of manufacturing cement. This knowledge had been forgotten since late antiquity.
