This church is one of the oldest places of worship in the Middle Weser region. There is no reliable figure about the age of the church. The chancel is the oldest part of the church, built around 1250. It probably initially existed as a small chapel, which was then expanded to become a church by adding the central nave. The west and middle bays are from the 12th century, the east (choir) and the vaults from the 15th century. Two underground passages led from the castle estate and the vicarage through the basement of the church to the choir room. The vaulted cellar used to serve as a burial place for nobles and priests. Art objects worth seeing: altar, pulpit, baptismal font, prieche, epitaph and coat of arms of a bishop, 2 colored church windows and grave slabs on the outer walls.
