According to legend, the people of Tiefenbach wanted to thoroughly "buzze" (clean) the dark disc of the moon rising behind the Wormsberg. The moon buzzer therefore stretches out on a wine barrel, towards the moon to clean it. The sculpture tells this story in a vivid way.
The Tiefenbach residents are proud of their nickname and wear it with humor.

Buzzen means to clean in High German, i.e. the moon cleaner. The character comes from the fact that the Tiefenbachers have been called the moon buzzers for many decades.
