The Baden mountains are located in the village of Baden. The landscape is characterized by the Wesermarsch in the west, dune elevations of up to 40 m and the Badenermoor in the east. The area was sparsely populated until the 19th century, and people lived from potato growing, sheep farming and the outsourced factories of the city of Bremen. Today, the entire Baden mountain is covered with partly villa-like houses. In some places (such as at Haus Hünenburg), however, a clear view of the Weser Valley is still possible. Depending on the weather, the view extends to Verden in the southeast or to Wildeshauser Geest in the west.
