Rebuilt in 1564, as the number engraved on the portal suggests, the parish church is located at the entrance to the village. The bell tower was built in 1676, but the coronation of the plant took place after more than a hundred years.
In the only nave, without side chapels, a panel of the Crucifixion, with the Saints Rochus and Sebastian (16th century), which is attributed to Enea Salmeggia, paintings of the saints Remigius and Defendente (17th century) and a wooden carved altar surround with Madonna (Mid 18th century).
In the sacristy an antique chasuble in silk embroidery.

Today, San Defendente is a rather abandoned collection of old stone buildings and a simple church. We only found one house that is probably still inhabited today, but you can already guess that a lot of people once had their home up here.
