Top cycling routes to Sehestedt Salt Marsh Trail – Floating Bog

Tips

  • The salt marshes near Sehestedt contain a special feature that is unique on the Jade Bay: Here, in front of the dike and exposed to the tides, there is a floating raised bog. Those who start the tour on the dyke have a good view of the unicum called Sehestedter Außendeichsmoor from there. It is the remnant of an extensive raised bog that once, 1,000 years ago, covered the entire area of today's Jade Bay and areas bordering to the south.

  • Beautiful route, right on the water. Just a bit confusing on the non-water side. But once you find the signs, you can do it.
