If you drive the Ruhrtalradweg in the opposite direction, you can not enjoy a nice descent. Then this is a first, crisp rise. A clear indication that you are there soon: in the middle of the Sauerland.

The descent through the countryside between Wiemeringhausen and Assinghausen offers a great alternative to the bike path along the main road. In fact, the Ruhr Valley Cycle Route also runs here, starting in Winterberg, this is the first steeper descent on the long-distance cycle path between Winterberg and Duisburg.

Is simply a joy for cyclists, when the sign is such that it announces a departure and no increase. Coming from the other direction certainly less funny.
The departure was definitely nice, because not too winding and well arranged (at least the end of December, do not know how crowded it is in the summer and how good you can see far when everything is green again)
