Mountain biking
The lake originated from a former open-cast ore mine. From 1853 to 1897, the English Fernie family from Leicester owned the mine, giving it its name. The water is said to be up to 30 meters deep in some places. It is now a fishing lake where the Linden Model Boat Club occasionally launches its model boats. A wide footpath surrounds the lake. In some places, the path is slightly removed from the lake to provide some peace and quiet for the wildlife. Many plants and trees grow around the water.
